I have a domain name pointing to a web site. I decided a couple of weeks ago to dump that site, and replace it with a WordPress blog site. (WordPress is wonderful!) So I created a new blog, and have copied all the important information across.
Problem: I want to make an atomic move of the domain name. If I point the domain name at the wordpress site without domain support, it will fail to serve the pages. But it also seems that I can not purchase domain support while the domain name is pointed at the other site. I can not afford to have the site "down" for an unknown period of time. Why does the domain name have to pointed at wordpress before I purchase the domain support?
This just seems so strange. I am happy to pay the $10. Let me pay it, and once the site is completely ready to receive requests from that domain, THEN I will switch the domain address.
HOW DO I DO THIS?
