airrocker on "Best way to manage a business directory"

I'm looking for an innovative CMS to run my site with, and I think I'm leaning towards WordPress (as opposed to Jommla). I'm looking for some help in creating a searchable database of ~850 businesses. I would like to be able to have a "main" page listing all of the business. Here is my current implementation of this: http://www.twinfallschamber.com/Twin_Falls_Chamber_of_Commerce/Directory.html

I would like the names of the businesses to be searchable on my site, and also be able to assign "keywords" to each business that would also show up in a search result. Example: 'Joe Plumber' should show up if a user searches "plumbing" or "sinks".

Does anyone know of a plugin that can help me achieve this?

Next issue - I'm going to create a "business profile page" for each individual business. Here's an example: http://www.twinfallschamber.com/Twin_Falls_Chamber_of_Commerce/Canyon_Crest.html

Now here's the kicker... I would like to be able to create a user and password for each business to be able to update their page (and only their page). Example: If Canyon Crest is having a 'buy one dinner get one free' special in November, I'd like for them to be able to log in and add that to their page somehow.

Do you guys think any of this is possible... or am I reaching too far? Thanks in advance for any help.
