I currently have a blog at alivetinyworld.wordpress.com.
When clicking on my name on a post, though, it leads to an URL with my username: http://alivetinyworld.wordpress.com/author/desensitisation/
I would rather it pointed towards something like http://alivetinyworld.wordpress.com/author/alivetinyworld/ for the sake of standardisation. From reading Wordpress' support pages it would seem that the best way to go about this would be to make a new username and transfer the blog over.
I tried this however, and it says that Alivetinyworld is already in use. I tried to retrieve the password to test this, but it said "invalid username or email", which I'm assuming means the name is not actually taken.
Is this username in fact taken? What's causing this discrepancy, and how can I get around it to register the name?
