I am so very, very confused. I've read varius FAQ/support documents and it has made me even more confused. I think I'm just not quite connecting the dots at some point.
So far:
Signed up for a free blog with WordPress.com.
Bought a domain through WP.
Found my own host, and transferred my domain name over to the new people.
Have WordPress installed on the new host server.
What I don't understand is how to transfer a blog using the import/export function if my login to WP remains at the same address (that is, http://melissagraf.com/wp-admin) according to both WordPress and to my new host. The support documentation (http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/) says 'old blog' and 'new blog', but if the login location is the same, how is there a difference? Do I have to delete the 'melissa.graf.com' section in Upgrades>Domains? Do I have to delete the WordPress.com site altogether (and won't that also screw up my login)?
Or is this a question I should be asking my host, rather than at WordPress.com? Thank you in advance for your answers, and patience.
