All I want is a bit of text and/or a link in my blog's sidebar.
I found the Widgets section, and there seems to be several widgets that could accomplish what I need. The only problem is, when I add a widget, everything currently in my sidebar goes away.
I thought maybe I could just add all the widgets that were there before plus the new one, but my theme shows different widgets depending on if I'm at the home page or a post's permalink.
Why is this so difficult. It seems like the Widgets section should have a check box to indicate if the widgets I add should be in place of or in addition to the widgets already there. All I want to add is a simple link to the them (Note: the theme I'm using doesn't support menus so that's not an option.)
