mousomer on "Table of Contents without plugins"

I need a table of contents inside some of my posts (like they have at the page http://codex.wordpress.org/Importing_Content ).
My blog in on the www.wordpress.com - not on a local server - so I can't use plugins.
Is there a simple tutorial for this?
